Thirteen foot high walls reflect antique furnishings and artwork of the early 20th century. At the entrance, a newel post Cupid's lamp lights the way to the upstairs where leaded lamps and choice antique furniture recall the rich hospitality of a time long past. Awake to the smells of a award-winning 3-5 course breakfast served in the dining room by candle light while listening to soft music play. | | Carry's parlor is named in honor of Carry Nation's visit to Allerton in 1907 and was once the hotel's small parlor. It now offers a selection of gifts and antiques and is the tv/game/meeting room for overnight guests. | | Located 75 miles south of Des Moines, Iowa, this inn offers a quiet place to relax. The inn can also be rented for intimate weddings, retreats, meetings and special events, such as rehearsal dinners, anniversaries, showers, receptions and reunions. Enter Allerton, cross the railroad tracks. A credit card is required to secure a reservation. Checks may be mailed, but must be received at least 10 days in advance of reservations. Cancellations made at least 7 days in advance = no charges. Cancellations of 4-7 days, charges of 1/2 the entire stay will be made. Cancellations of less than 4 days result in charges for entire stay booked. |
